George Clooney Skips Beginning Of Venice Film Festival
Though the iconic film festival began on Wednesday, August 27th, Clooney, who was expected to be present for nearly all of the weekend, wasn't seen at all on Wednesday. He missed both the press junket promoting Jay Kelly, his new film, and skipped a dinner with his cast mates.
According to the Hollywood Reporter, Clooney was seen boarding a boat to leave the Hotel Excelsior at around 4pm, allegedly on his way home. After reaching out to a rep for comment, People reported that Clooney was suffering from a sinus infection. "Unfortunately, George has a sinus infection and, under doctor's orders, he had to scale back his activities today," the rep explained.
The following day, he also missed the official press conference for Jay Kelly, though the press conference's moderator assured fans he was on the mend.

Well Wishes From Fans
Thankfully, later that evening, Clooney stepped out with his wife, Amal Clooney, for the red carpet event. Keeping it classic as always, the actor wore a black tuxedo with a white button-down shirt and black bow-tie, leaving room for his wife to shine. Amal wore a figure-hugging fuchsia minidress with a length train, gold heels, and a gold clutch.
After George's absence from the days prior, fans were delighted to see photos of the couple on the red carpet, and said so across social media. "Such a gorgeous couple," one person wrote.
"What a stunning dress," agreed another. "So glad George was feeling well enough to escort his wife down the red carpet!"

"Yay! I had not expected George to make an appearance," one comment reads. "He really was looking worn. Glad he got some rest."
"Prays for you and a speedy recovery," a final fan wrote. "But by the looks of it, you don't need it!"
