Gwyneth Paltrow’s 21-year-old daughter has scored a fresh modeling gig—but fans on social media were quick to label her a “nepo baby.”

On Tuesday, Sept. 9, fashion house Self-Portrait announced its collaboration with Apple Martin, unveiling the news through a series of mirror selfies captured by Apple herself. In one look, she rocked red pocketed shorts with button details, paired with a crisp white T-shirt. In another video, shot in the self-portrait style, she switched into classic jeans with the same baby tee featuring black hems, casually seated on the floor.

Apple Martin Becomes The Face Of Self-Portrait

The daughter of Gwyneth and Coldplay’s Chris Martin showed off her natural beauty in up-close shots, expressing her excitement for the campaign’s release.

While the blonde beauty, who faced bullying accusations in 2024, looked stunning, many users on social media took to Self-Portrait’s Instagram comment section to express their thoughts on the brand choosing a nepo baby as the new Miss Self-Portrait.

“NEPO makes me sick,” said one fan. Another user commented, “I’m shocked. A celebrity’s child who wants to be a model.” A third wrote, “Nepotism at its finest.” A fourth commented, “Just another nepo baby.” Someone else sarcastically said, “Another celebrity child being a model. Nepo baby. No way.”

Apple herself took to the brand’s comment section to say, “I am so excited! And so, so grateful for this opportunity. Thank you so much.”

She’s no stranger to criticism—this isn’t the first time Apple has been hit with backlash and branded a “nepo baby.”

In February of this year, she debuted as a beauty influencer by making her entrance at the Hourglass Cosmetics party during the NYFW Kickoff Party. With no significant presence in the beauty, fashion, film, or music industries, many fans were quick to attribute her rising status to nepotism, arguing that her connections, rather than experience, paved her way into the influencer world.

Apple Martin Debuts As Beauty Influencer

At the event, Apple was seen alongside actress Eiza Gonzalez and model Amelia Gray Hamlin as the trio posed with Hourglass founder and president Carisa Janes.

She stepped out in a chic black slip dress featuring a delicate lace bodice and a flowing satin skirt, accessorized with a sleek satin scarf around her neck. To celebrate the brand’s new Red 0 collection, she wore the Phantom Volumizing Glossy Balm in a bold red shade. As soon as critics saw photos from the event, they not only slammed her awkward modeling but also the fact that she was most likely invited because of her status.

"If there are no rich and famous parents, who is this Apple, even?" asked one user.

"Could anyone appear more entitled than Gwyneth? Perhaps we have found someone," said someone else.

"Listen. All of the other nepo babies are fine. This one we should not embrace," expressed another netizen.
