Eggs are one of the healthiest foods on the planet and they are weight-loss friendly. Eggs are rich in high-quality protein, healthy fats, and many essential vitamins and minerals. If you are eating eggs daily, then you are on the right track for losing weight and increasing your metabolism. If you want to kick your metabolism in high gear, sprinkle some cumin into your eggs.

Eggs by themselves are rich in protein and low in calories. One large egg contains about 78 calories, 6 grams of protein and it’s high in nutrients. Jo Ann Carson, professor of clinical nutrition at UT Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas says, “Eating an egg a day as a part of a healthy diet for healthy individuals is a reasonable thing to do.” Adding a dash of a metabolism-boosting spice, such as cumin will take your breakfast to the next level.

Most people know cumin as an essential ingredient in Mexican and Indian cuisine. It imparts an earthy, warm and spicy flavor to dishes. The spice not only makes food taste great, but it also’s good for treating indigestion, helps to control blood sugar, and may increase your ability to lose weight. It also contains multiple plant compounds that decrease inflammation.

Just eating a small quantity of cumin with your eggs will provide you with antioxidants, iron and help your body control blood sugar. You could take cumin in supplement form, but it’s easy (and delicious) to add it to your food.
