Most iPhone users can relate to the moment your device tells you it’s time to update it to the latest iOS software. Sometimes, the updates are no big deal, but the newest version is driving some Apple users wild.

Recently, Apple released its iOS 26 update, which has hit people’s devices with promises of new, exciting features and a whole new look to people’s home screens. However, aside from a distaste for the new display, numerous iPhone users are beginning to complain about the update, with many claiming that it’s draining their battery life and making their overall smartphone experience less enjoyable.

Apple Released Its iOS 26 Update On September 15th

This month, Apple came out with its latest iOS software update, which they typically do once every year. iOS updates usually come with new features, from the display of their iPhones and devices to extra features relating to text messages, pictures, and more.

In addition to announcing their new iPhone 17 collection and upgraded products, like the iPhone Air and a new version of AirPods, Apple released iOS 26 worldwide on September 15th. It's one of the more significant upgrades Apple users have likely seen in a while, as it comes with all sorts of new features.

The new display is one of the more notable updates, as the software has introduced the 'Liquid Glass' display, which has apps made to look like see-through glass, rounding them and making them translucent. There is also more AI involved in the update, via Apple Intelligence, which is used to translate text messages and more.

Apple Users Slam The New iOS Update On Social Media

Although every iOS update comes with its complaints, iOS 26 is hitting users especially differently this time around, as many Apple users are already fed up with the update, claiming it's wrecking their phones on various social media platforms.

First, complaints began rolling in about the display updates, particularly the Liquid Glass feature.

"I updated to iOS 26 and now I hate my phone," wrote an X user. "Huge downgrade in terms of being intuitive as well."

"I can't believe Apple approved this," added another. "It looks horrible."

Other users began complaining about how iOS 26 began eating up their battery life, even though Apple is boasting about its battery-saving features.

"Proof that the newest #iOS26 drains the battery like CRAZY," posted an X user, whose battery usage increased drastically. "I just installed it last night."

"The battery is draining like crazy in just a few hours," wrote another.

"Aside from how it looks now, this new update is awful," posted an Apple customer. "It's actively killing my battery within minutes of use. I feel like I'm going backwards. Well done, Apple."
