Ivanka Trump recently wore an elegant outfit to a political occasion that has received some negative feedback.

The businesswoman’s father-in-law, Charles Kushner, was recently sworn in as America’s new Ambassador to France, and she wore a formal skirt suit for the occasion. Still, despite her wearing another one of her stylish outfits for a day at the White House, it couldn’t seem to outshine the news of her father-in-law’s new position. Read more about the skirt and Kushner family update below.

Ivanka Trump Wears Chic Peplum Skirt Suit To Father-In-Law Charles Kushner's Swearing-In At The White House

On May 19th, Charles Kushner, the father of businessman Jared Kushner and father-in-law of Ivanka Trump, was appointed by President Donald Trump as the U.S. Ambassador to France.

For the official swearing in, which took place in the Oval Office, the mom-of-three stood beside her father, children, husband, and in-laws as Charles gained an official political position during the second Trump administration.

Ivanka wore a dark red peplum skirt suit with a coordinating belt. The outfit consisted of a short-sleeved peplum top that ended at her waist and a matching red skirt. Her top had black buttons, and the pencil-style skirt ended just above her ankles. She wore strappy black heels and had her long, blonde hair down in a curled style. While her outfit may have received some positive attention on social media after she shared photos from the swearing-in, with fans writing that she and her family looked "beautiful," many comments regarding her style were overshadowed by those angry about her father-in-law getting to hold the position.

The Internet Slams Ivanka And Her Family After Charles Was Appointed Ambassador To France

Ivanka's father-in-law becoming Ambassador to France was quite a controversial event, given that not only is he now a member of President Trump's family, but he also has a criminal history.

In 2005, Charles, who is now a disbarred attorney, was sentenced to two years in prison after being charged with illegal campaign contributions, tax evasion, and witness tampering. After his son, Jared, married the current president's daughter in 2009, Trump eventually granted him a federal pardon during his first term.

Many American citizens, especially those who are against Ivanka's father as president, were angered by the news and called the incident another example of "nepotism" during Trump's second term.

"What are his qualifications?" asked an Instagram user under the 43-year-old's Instagram post, commemorating the swearing-in.

"Nepotism?"

Another Instagram user called the current Trump administration "a family business."

"Nepotism at its finest," wrote another.

"Wasn't he in jail?" asked a user.

"Ridiculous," added another.

Despite Ivanka showing up to another White House occasion dressed to the nines, her chic style seemingly wasn't enough to keep her away from criticism this time.
