Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez are definitely A-listers, so the rules that apply to the rest of us do not always seem to apply to them. Apparently, that includes the CDC guidelines.
The couple got some serious heat after A-Rod shared a snap of them on his Instagram page, taking a private jet to Miami after spending some time in New York City.

In the snap, Lopez is seen lounging on their jet, sitting on top of an Hermès comforter.
The plane ride looked completely luxurious, but fans were not too happy about the post.
The couple took the jet after Rodriguez co-hosted Saks Fifth Avenue holiday window and light show. J.Lo also made an appearance at the event.
Now, the couple is headed to Miami to celebrate Thanksgiving "to spend time with family."

In the caption Rodriguez asked his followers, "What are your holiday plans?"
That question seemed to open A-Rod to criticism. One follower responded, "None. We cancelled all of them. We're in the middle of a pandemic."
Another commented, "Not having anyone over. Doing our part to not gather with family. Doing our part to try and be the solution not the problem."

Another critic brought up the CDC recommendations in their comment: "Really? The CDC has recommended that no one travel for Thanksgiving. And doctors are pleading with us to keep Thanksgiving with just our immediate household for one year. I am surprised to see someone with a platform like yours posting this. It is hard for those of us who are sacrificing this year to see this."

According to the CDC website, "As cases continue to increase rapidly across the United States, the safest way to celebrate Thanksgiving is to celebrate at home with the people you live with."
The website also specifies warnings against traveling: "Travel may increase your chance of getting and spreading COVID-19. Postponing travel and staying home is the best way to protect yourself and others this year."
Neither J.Lo or A-Rod have responded to the criticism.
