Jennifer Lopez has been in the headlines a lot lately, with her latest tour and recent birthday, but now, a series of selfies is going viral, as she decided to cut back on filters and makeup for a bare-faced selfie that her followers loved.
The pop star shared a series of pictures in one of her most recent Instagram posts, which included two selfies. For a while, Jennifer’s been receiving some backlash for her alleged use of filters and photo editing, so to see a more natural look was a nice thing for her fans. Read more about the post below.
Jennifer Lopez Includes A Makeup-Free Selfie In One Of Her Latest Instagram Posts
On July 24th, the singer and actress shared an Instagram post in celebration of her birthday. She turned 56 years old this summer and has been experiencing quite a busy year, with her "Up All Night" world tour in full swing, and celebrating her birthday with some eventful festivities.
To honor her birthday, Jennifer shared pictures of herself celebrating it off stage, including hotel selfies, videos of her at her lavish birthday party, holding a bouquet of flowers, and more.
"What a gift you all are!" she wrote in her caption for her followers. "Thank you so much for all your beautiful birthday wishes."
Two of the selfies in the post included one of her looking very filtered, but the other was a seemingly makeup-free selfie, where her blonde-brown hair is slightly unkempt, and she's wearing a blue and white striped button-down.
The photo was an excuse for her to show off her great skin and looks at 56, and many of her followers preferred that picture over the filtered one. Still, others weren't so convinced the selfie was as untouched as she may have wanted them to think.

Fans React To Jennifer's Bare-Faced Photo And Accuse Her Of Still Using Filters In The Comments Section
After Jennifer's post went up, and several other media outlets shared her makeup-free selfie, her fans and other internet users posted several messages about her natural beauty and how she doesn't need filters to look good at her age. Some users even speculated that the more bare-faced selfie wasn't even entirely unedited, and that she was still using some kind of filter or airbrushing to make herself look polished.
"She is wearing the 'no makeup makeup,' with lots of filters and photoshop," wrote an Instagram user.
"She's a beautiful lady, but she has always been heavy on the filters," wrote another.
"That isn't makeup free…..but she's gorgeous either way," added a user.
Despite the speculation behind her "makeup-free" picture, the "On The Floor" singer's fans were still there to support her and hype her up.
"You look younger every year," wrote one.
"You are very beautiful," added another.
There's no way to know for sure whether or not the dancing performer truly took a bare-faced, unedited selfie, but either way, it looks like she's ready to display her full range of looks.
