Julianne Hough is putting her divorce from ex-husband Brooks Laich behind her and looking forward to the “new chapter” in her life. The 33-year-old singer, dancer and actress clearly found comfort in knowing that her fans are there for her on social media, as she didn’t hesitate to share the first moments in her brand new home in New York with her five million loyal Instagram followers.
The former Dancing with the Stars pro captioned the candid post, which was a picture of herself sitting on the floor of her new home and leaning against a cream-colored mushroom puff: “NYC living – first night in my house I had to get a locksmith at 2am, no furniture, drinking my wine @freshvinewine out of my one coffee mug and loving every minute! This is the spot where I contemplate my life and this next chapter. The cool part is I have been so blessed to live the life of my dreams, have family, old and new friends in my life that mutually show up for each other, and have a new sense of wonder in my eyes and heart, that this empty house feels completely full! #mushroomcpuffsnotincluded”

The Grease Live! star and her now ex-husband broke up in May 2020, and she filed for divorce in November 2020. Their divorce was finalized in February 2022. As expected, her fans flooded the comments section of her post with love and support. “I love your positivity and I love you!!” exclaimed one fan, followed by two two-heart emojis. “Congrats on this next chapter!” said another. “Decorate your new home with love, laughter and memories,” suggested another fan, followed by the red heart emoji. “Aww so happy for you and wishing you nothing but joy, peace, and love in this next chapter!” commented another fan, while another quite rightly said that the Big Apple was the perfect place to start afresh, writing, “New York City is the best place to write the next chapter of your story!!! I’m doing it too.”
The Footloose star shared even more with her fans on her Instagram Story, posting a picture of her feet in front of the fireplace with a paper cup and what appears to be a croissant (or equally delicious-looking baked good) on the floor. She wrote: “When you still don’t have furniture,” followed by the shrugging emoji. She continued: “This spot on the floor has been where I eat my breakfast, listen to music, and drink my own wine out of my one coffee mug. When I contemplate this next chapter of life, and how things are so different than they were before. ‘New Beginnings’ was a phrase I heard a lot yesterday with some new friends that welcomed me into their home for Easter. When I truly think about it all…I have everything I need in this empty house.” We always knew that Julianne was a glass half full kind of girl, and we wish her nothing but good luck and happy memories in her new home!
