Justin Theroux is opening up about his current relationship with ex Jennifer Aniston in a recent interview for Esquire. The actor has nothing but good things to say about her, explaining that they’ve “remained friends” despite their 2018 divorce.
Although the two definitely don't talk on a daily basis, they do put the effort in to remain in touch. "I would say we’ve remained friends," Theroux told the outlet. "We don’t talk every day, but we call each other. We FaceTime. We text."
He also explained that their easy friendship now is largely due to their amiable split, which never grew to be too "dramatic."
Theroux explained, "Like it or not, we didn’t have that dramatic split, and we love each other."
"I’m sincere when I say that I cherish our friendship," he continued. "We can not be together and still bring each other joy and friendship. Also, she makes me laugh very, very hard. She’s a hilarious person."
That's not all the actor revealed. He also admitted that if he and Aniston ever lost contact, he would consider it a "loss."
"It would be a loss if we weren’t in contact, for me personally," he explained. "And I’d like to think the same for her." So sweet!
Fans loved what he had to say about Aniston – although some were definitely wishing they still had a romantic connection. "Sad they didn't work out," one wrote on Instagram. Another seemed to agree, "They were cute together tbh."
And although Theroux's comments were definitely swoon-worthy, it seems like they are better off as friends!
