It’s no secret that Kat Von D has taken the beauty world by storm with her popular makeup line, Kate Von D Beauty. Now, the tattoo artist and makeup guru is on to conquer shoes and we’re anticipating the collection to be nothing short of amazing.
Back in July, Von D teased a prototype of the soon-to-be shoe line and fans everywhere rightfully freaked out. Since then, more details regarding the artist’s newest creative project have been leaked, informing us that the shoe line should be set to launch very soon. We’ll just be here impatiently waiting until then.
The new shoe line includes 28 styles. We can all assume the collection will be a major hit (and even that’s an understatement). To prove just how unique Von D is and to pay tribute to her first true love (makeup), she even included a hidden lipstick compartment in one pair heels. We wouldn’t expect anything less from the creative genius.
The goth-inspired shoe collection will be handmade in Florence, Italy. While the footwear will have the look of real leather, don’t worry: they’re vegan and cruelty-free–just like Von D’s makeup line.
The artist wrote on her Instagram page, “I know how hard it is to find high-quality shoes with style that aren’t made from animal leather, fur, or use glues derived from horses+cows, and that you can afford! I’ve been working hard on getting these shoes perfect for you.”
The line will feature styles like platforms, boots, sneakers, flats, and everything else in between–including unisex shoes. The prototypes display colors that fit Von D’s signature look like red and black. Big buckles, ankle straps, and even bone-decal accents decorate the shoes.
VonDShoes on Instagram, which was just created in early February, already has 64.5k followers proving that fans are dying to get their hands on a pair asap.
In the meantime, Von D answered some important questions about the new collection:
1) The entire shoe line is 100% vegan and cruelty-free.
2) They will ship internationally.
3) The products will be as accessible as possible for those looking for affordable luxe vegan footwear.
4) There will be sizes available for those who are a 5, 11, and 12.
5) None of the products will be “limited edition”
6) The 28 styles include platforms, flats, boots, sneakers, sandals, slip-ons, creepers, winkle-pickers, and even a pair of furry moon boots.
7) There will be unisex shoe options.
8) The shoes will be handmade in Florence, Italy.
