Arguably, the two most famous women in the royal family or associated with the royal family are sister-in-laws Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle. However, there have been more reports of them not getting along than there have been of them bonding.
After years of rumors that the two famous figures have been ‘clashing’ both before and after Meghan and Prince Harry left the UK and their royal duties for life in America, a new inside report has come out that in order for them to one day reconcile, Kate “demands” an apology from her sister-in-law. Not only that, but it would have to be a “genuine” apology for them to have a better relationship despite a history of alleged arguments. The claims don’t come long after rumors that Prince Harry was getting closer to reconciling with King Charles and other members of the royal family. Read more about the new report below.
An Inside Source Claims Kate Middleton' Demands' An Apology From Meghan Markle In Order To Reconcile
Ever since Prince Harry and Meghan Markle decided to step down from their official royal duties and move to America in 2020, it's no secret that things have been super tense between them and the rest of the royal family.
While there's a ton of headlines about the prince's arguments and alleged issues with his father and brother, there have also been whispers of conflict between the Princess and Duchess since Meghan and Harry got married. Kate, the Princess of Wales, has been a staple member of the royal family for years, when she won people's hearts following her and Prince William's engagement and their magical royal wedding in 2011. When Meghan, a slightly less conventional royal with a background in acting and American lifestyle, officially joined the family in 2018, reports began coming out that she and her sister-in-law did not get along very well.
During the Duke and Duchess's bombshell interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, after they had settled down in the US, Meghan expressed that Kate had made her cry after they had argued over Princess Charlotte's bridesmaid dress for her and Harry's wedding. Additionally, in Harry's famous memoir, which he published after stepping down from his royal duties, Spare, he wrote about an incident where the two sister-in-laws "clashed" after Meghan asked to borrow Kate's lip gloss.
Now that rumors and reports are circulating that the estranged prince is doing what he can to "reconcile" with his family members, an insider revealed what it would take for Kate to be on good terms with Meghan.
"Kate's made it clear that she would need a very genuine apology from Meghan and for there to be multiple witnesses present if they were to communicate with each other," a source told The Express. "However, the possibility of Meghan traveling to the UK to speak to Kate is a long way off. She has far too many more important things to be getting on with, and thinks it's Kate who should be extending the olive branch."

A Source Says Kate & Meghan's Alleged Feud Is Causing The Royal Family A 'Headache'
While the entire family is reportedly working towards figuring out a way they can solve and relieve tension between themselves and the California-based couple, especially now that King Charles is getting older and dealing with his cancer battle, the issues between the two mothers have supposedly been weighing on everyone.
The same inside source also told The Express that for real healing to take place within the royal family, the two women would also have to get on the same page and put all of their darker past behind them.
"If Harry and Charles reconcile, then Kate and Meghan will need to do the same," claimed the insider. "There's no point in trying to heal the family drama if they're not willing to cooperate."
The source also stated that the drama between the Princess and Duchess "is already causing a big headache," and that they're allegedly not ready to start their healing journey whatsoever.
"Neither Kate nor Meghan seems interested in that outcome," they continued. "Kate feels very strongly about staying out of it all. As far as she is concerned, she's been through enough, while Meghan's checked out of the royal drama and doesn't see the point in moving backwards."
We'll be very curious to see if the two sister-in-laws will ever reach an era where they can at least co-exist peacefully as family members, for the sake of their entire family and children, but we'll simply have to stay tuned for now.
