Kelly Clarkson has remained respectful of her late ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, since his passing in August at the age of 48 after a three-year battle with skin cancer. She even went so far as to change the lyrics of one of her songs – “Piece by Piece” – because the previous lyrics felt a little too “angry.”
But the 43-year-old “Breakaway” singer has now been hit with a devastating revelation, which could potentially change things. It’s recently come out that the former talent manager had been living with her former assistant in her beloved Montana home – a property which she paid for herself! And according to the rumors, their relationship may have started while Brandon and Kelly were still married!
Blackstock’s obituary reportedly named the former assistant, Brittney Marie Jones, as his “beautiful and loving partner in life and business.” People reported that it also stated the pair “started building a life, building companies, and working tirelessly to create Headwaters Livestock Auction and what will live on as his legacy, The Valley View Rodeo in Bozeman, Montana.” Poor Kelly!
Kelly Clarkson's 'Betrayal' In What She Thought Was Her 'Safe Place'
Kelly and Brandon finalized their divorce in 2022, though cracks in their marriage had reportedly been visible for years. At the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, the couple retreated to their Montana home with their two children – daughter River Rose and son Remington Alexander – as well as Kelly's longtime assistant, Jones, who was married to musician Greg LaPoint at the time.
Rumors have swirled that Brandon and Brittney grew closer than ever during lockdown, sparking speculation of a secret affair! Several insiders reportedly insist that Blackstock didn't start seeing Jones until after he and Clarkson split in June 2020, but there's currently no way of finding out the truth. What does seem to be apparent is that their romance seemed to contribute to the eventual breakdown of Jones' marriage to LaPoint in 2023.
According to RadarOnline, the "Since U Been Gone" singer now struggles with the knowledge that her Montana ranch – a place she once viewed as a safe haven for herself and her children – ended up being the backdrop for betrayal.

Kelly Clarkson Is Heartbroken By What Happened 'Under Her Nose'
The Voice coach, who has taken time off from both the NBC singing competition and The Kelly Clarkson Show, while also canceling the remainder of her Las Vegas residency to focus on family, is said to be heartbroken by these revelations. Totally understandable!
"What Kelly didn't realize was she was literally housing her replacement. The lockdown gave Brandon and Brittney the perfect chance to get closer, right under Kelly's nose," an insider reportedly told Hollywood insider Rob Shuter, as per his Substack and RadarOnline.
"Kelly trusted them both completely. She never suspected the glances and private chats meant more," the source continued, adding: "Her home, the one place she thought was safe, was really the stage for betrayal."
