The Kelly Clarkson Show is a fan favorite—fun and interesting guests, excellent interview topics, and of course, the crème de la crème, performances from Ms. Clarkson herself. However, sources are saying that the host may not be the host for very much longer, with rumors that Kelly wants to take a step back. Of course, she’s irreplaceable, but who’s going to give it their best shot? Fans are hearing former Today host Hoda Kotb’s name, and the reactions are mixed. Keep reading for more information.
Hoda Kotb To Be Kelly Clarkson's Replacement?
In early May, an NBC insider spoke to Page Six about who could possibly fill the shoes of Kelly Clarkson on her talk show. "There's a long list of names," the source said. "Hoda is part of that list. NBC never wanted Hoda to leave," they continued. Kotb left her previous hosting gig on Today back in January after 17 years with the show.
"The question is, would Hoda want to do it?" the source questioned. According to a different insider, NBC executives are looking for someone who "already has a fanbase and has a diverse background. Hoda ticks a lot of boxes. She's an Egyptian, older [than] Kelly Clarkson."
But do fans even want to see more of Hoda? While some are excited by the idea of Hoda returning to the television screens, others don't think she's quite right for the job. "Pleas no," one person wrote on X. "We don't need another Today show!"

Kelly Clarkson Wants To Quit
Despite the ongoing success of the show, it's been reported that the first American Idol winner wants to quit her hosting duties and leave New York City, where the show has been filmed since 2023, because she finds it extremely exhausting.
"The show is grueling," an insider told Page Six. "It's a whole lot of work, and I hear that Kelly would like to spend more time down South," they added, before going on to say that she wants to spend more time with her children, 10-year-old daughter River Rose and 8-year-old son Remington Alexander, both of whom she shares with ex Brandon Blackstock.
"Kelly's number one priority is her children, and they always will be," added the source.
