Kelly Clarkson Says Marriage Isn't 'For Everyone'
Jenna Bush Hager thoughtfully brought Clarkson a romance book from her new publishing imprint, which the singer was thankful for, adding that she's "not dating." When Jenna said she wanted to set her up with someone, Clarkson immediately shut the idea down, but Jenna pushed on. "You know I set up our executive producer and she married somebody?" she asked.
"I don't want to do that either," Clarkson laughed. She went on to explain that she doesn't think that marriage is meant for everyone. "My sister has such a beautiful marriage," she said. "There are marriages that I look at and I'm like, 'That's beautiful.' I just don't think it's for everyone, you know?"
Kelly's Difficult Divorce
Clarkson just went through a pretty difficult divorce from her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, so it isn't surprising that she's counted herself out of getting married again. She and Blackstock were married for seven years and share two children together. More than that, Blackstock was also Clarkson's manager, so when it came time for divorce proceedings, things were made difficult.
Between custody battles and contractual disputes, we won't be surprised if Clarkson is turned off from marriage forever. She insisted to Bush Hager on she show that she doesn't even want to date—the only thing on the table for the 42-year-old is a good old fashioned "make out!"
