The current state of the WGA strike appears to be functioning seamlessly, resulting in the temporary suspension of Jennifer Hudson and Kelly Clarkson‘s talk shows. In addition to these cancellations, The Talk and Drew Barrymore Show have also announced their halting of production until the resolution of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes.

The pressure on Barrymore proved to be too great, as noted by Showbiz 411, leading to the shutdown of all WGA signatory shows. Despite the possibility of using substitute writers, such a decision could have incurred the wrath of the public, leading to an uncertain future.

The Kelly Clarkson Show On Hiatus Due To Ongoing Strikes

Since its daytime premiere in 2019, the American Idol winner's talk show has garnered a considerable fan following.

Much of its success can be attributed to the charming persona of its host, who has carved out a niche for herself with popular recurring segments such as "Kellyoke."

However, like several other talk shows on network television, the Kelly Clarkson Show is currently on hiatus due to the ongoing Hollywood strikes.

Over the weekend, Clarkson engaged with fans in another way (as season 5 of her show is TBD)— with the help of social media.

In a heartwarming display of spontaneity, Clarkson posted a video on her Instagram page of her joining a woman singing on the sidewalk in Las Vegas, taking her by surprise.

This delightful impromptu performance was shared by the "Mine" singer, who had arrived in the city for her upcoming appearance at the iHeartRadio Music Festival.

"I was on my way to soundcheck for @iHeartRadio tonight in Vegas and was tipping this incredible woman killing some Tina Turner," the Grammy winner wrote in her caption for her 7.1 million followers.

She added: "And then she asked me to sing and had no clue who I was."

Clarkson continued: "And then it hit her, and it made my day! She gives the best hugs and sings her tail off! See ya tonight Vegas."

Fans headed to her comment section to thank her for spreading warmth that she normally shares on her show.

"Kelly’s like “there’s a strike, we can’t do Kellyoke, this will do.” Love how you made this woman’s day and everyone who watched! Truly America’s Idol!" one wrote.

Another added: "This is incredible. I can’t love this more! Seriously one of the realest and most talented celebrities! I would have died!"

As of November 2022, the Kelly Clarkson Show has secured renewal for both its fifth and sixth seasons through 2025.

Despite production being suspended in May 2023 as a result of the Writers Guild of America strike, there are still numerous new episodes yet to be aired.

To make a fresh start for its fifth season, it was announced in May 2023 that the show will be relocated from Los Angeles to Studio 6-A at NBC Studios in New York City.

Clarkson has expressed a desire to be closer to her family in North Carolina and has been captivated by the world of Broadway theatre, both of which played a part in her decision to relocate the show to the East Coast.
