Kim Kardashian recently appeared on her sister Khloé Kardashian’s podcast, during which she revealed not only that her 12-year-old daughter is homeschooled, but that her classes are anything but traditional. Revolving around fashion, music, and business, it seems North West isn’t getting the basic education in math, history, science, and literature like other kids her age. Worse yet, the pre-teen also just started rapping about being “banned” from school and “skipping school.” Keep reading for more information.

Kim Kardashian Reveals North West Is 'Homeschooled'

Sitting for an interview of Khloé in Wonder Land, Kim Kardashian touched on the topic of her eldest daughter's homeschooling. "She really is who she is and always has been that girl, and so, I nurture her," she said of North West. "She is homeschooled, and a lot of it is me helping her do a lot of the teachings and the things that we do, a lot of realistic courses, things that she’s really into."

"Math," she continued. "We’ll give budgets and we’ll go around we’ll get stuff and we’ll add it all up and subtract it all. She has a brand-building class, it’s an actual course and a curriculum, fully interactive learning."

She also spoke about how North has recently developed an interest in crafts and jewelry. "We made it a course and she has to do the web design, and she has to do the budgeting, and she has to go to the stores and get materials and sewing." she explained. "We do full fashion courses. She goes, in the summers to, to FIT in New York and goes to fashion camp. [She] loves these more interactive experiences, and so, I nurture her. It’s a full-time job even for me and her teacher. I think people don’t realize that I’m with her and the kids 24/7."

North West Raps About 'Skipping School'

While Kim Kardashian certainly painted a picture of being extremely involved in North's education, the 12-year-old is telling a different story through her music. In a song called Piercing on My Hand, which she wrote with her dad, Kanye West, she rapped about a different educational story. "Went to school for two days, then I got banned / Skipping school, yeah, I do it on the daily," she says.

Many people had trouble reconciling this admission with some of Kim's recent comments. In the same podcast interview, Kim addressed the claims that she lets North get away with anything she wants. "I think like he one misconception that people might have is like, Oh, she's trying to be her bestie and lets her get away with a lot," Kim said. "Like, no, Northy actually has a lot of rules." Apparently not ones about attending school!

Social Media Reactions

Across social media platforms, users have reacted negatively to both Kim's take on homeschooling and North West's clear rejection of school all together. "Great, but she still needs basic education like every child," one person wrote on Instagram.

"There's nothing realistic about home school focused solely on your interests," another person posted.

"For some reason, I believe North probably got kicked out of traditional schooling," one person theorized. "This 'home schooling' claim is just a cover up. You can't trust anything these Kardashians say."

"A 12 year old is not mature enough especially mentally to understand a course or courses on business or music and fashion," another user posted.

"So Kim has lots of rules for North and homeschools her, while North is rapping about getting banned from school and skipping school?" a final person asked. "So much for those rules."
