Kim Kardashian is famous for contorting her body in different ways, and, since she launched her shapewear brand, SKIMS, she has been encouraging women to do the same. However, some internet users believe she’s taken things too far with her latest SKIMS release, which seems to encourage women against “ageing gracefully.”

The reality star’s famous shapewear brand recently released its sculpting face wrap, which looks similar to something women wear after getting plastic surgery. The mask is said to help ‘sculpt’ people’s faces, reducing the appearance of excess fat or skin, and making one’s face look more contoured. The brand called it a “must-have” item for women’s nightly routine, but many internet users aren’t buying it, and accused Kim of trying to “profit” off of “insecure” women. Read more about the controversial wrap below.

SKIMS Releases Their Seamless Sculpt Face Wrap

Kim Kardashian's shapewear and fashion brand, SKIMS, has been selling all sorts of shapewear products since 2019. The brand has gone viral, as people love their underwear, bras, and more, but now, some think they've taken things too far with their latest product release.

This week, the brand announced its new "Seamless Sculpt Face Wraps," which are compression face wraps intended to support jaw strength and sculpt faces. On their website, the product is described as a "must-have face wrap that boasts our signature sculpting fabric and features collagen yarns for ultra-soft jaw support."

"Velcro closures at the top and nape of the neck allow for easy, everyday wear," they continued.

The wraps, which come in various flesh-colored shades and cost a whopping $48, are the shapewear brand's first venture into products for your face, adding a whole new element to their site and reputation. They look like the kind of wrap a facelift patient wears after surgery, which may have been intentional, as it's meant to hold and compress your face in a way that will give you a toned, contoured look once it's off.

The Internet Slams Kim Following The Face Wrap Release

Once the face wrap came out, like most new Kardashian products, it sold out extremely quickly, due to their hardcore fanbase and pop culture lovers who enjoy testing out their products as soon as possible.

Although it sold out, there were a large number of critics who accused the AHS actress of setting a bad example for women. This isn't the first time Kim or her sisters have been accused of setting unachievable beauty standards, and now, they're saying she's selling a product that does not support aging "gracefully."

On Instagram, one user asked, "Where do we draw the line, ladies?"

"I miss when it was okay to age gracefully," added another.

On Reddit, angry users shared similar sentiments and wrote that the privileged KKW Beauty founder was taking advantage of her supporters.

"Gotta give Kim credit," a user wrote. "She's always at the forefront of identifying new things for women to be insecure about and profiting off them."

"We all know it won't do anything," added another.

Although the mom of four has yet to acknowledge the backlash her esteemed brand is receiving right now, we have to wonder if she'll decide to say anything soon, as some people can't get over the fact that this $48 item exists.
