The Kardashian’s icon recently shared a lengthy Instagram post with her followers about her latest ventures with stem cell treatment after she found herself living with chronic pain following a shoulder injury. However, despite her vulnerable and personal tale, the internet slammed her for boasting about a very expensive treatment that is not accessible to those with life-threatening health issues and severe pain. Kim Kardashian Posts About Getting Stem Cell Therapy On Instagram
Earlier this month, the SKIMS founder took to Instagram to share several photos of herself posing alongside doctors and experts in a medical office. She revealed in her lengthy caption that after injuring her shoulder during a workout, she was left with intense pain she couldn't escape, and began looking into more serious methods for relief, eventually flying out to Mexico for stem cell therapy. She told her followers she was "so excited" to tell them about her "stem cell journey."
"I tried everything to find relief, then I learned about the potential of stem cell therapy and met Dr. Adeel Khan at Eterna," she wrote in her caption. "His team treated my shoulder with Dezawa Muse cells, and the results were immediate."
Later, she wrote that she was also left with recent "chronic back pain" that she described as "unbearable," and also received stem cell treatment at the same office.
"I can't recommend this treatment enough - it's transformed my life when I thought my body was breaking down," she added.
The Internet Slams Kim For Posting About Her 'Privileged' Medical Experience
Once Kim's post went up, comments from internet users began flooding in. While a handful of people applauded her for doing whatever it took to feel better, others were not into the post, noting that there are many average people out there who would love nothing more than to receive the treatment, but cannot afford it.
Stem cell treatment is known for helping people heal from and repair damaged organs and tissues. According to the American Society for Blood and Marrow Transplantation, a single stem cell transplant can range from about $50,000 to $100,000. Some versions of stem cell treatment may not be covered by insurance, and there isn't a ton of different types of treatment out there, which is evident, since the mom of four went as far as to travel to Mexico for hers.
Therefore, once her post went up, and she was seen smiling with a team of doctors in stylish sunglasses and a matching tracksuit, some people were fed up and left comments about it on Instagram.
"Me just living with the pain because I ain't a millionaire," wrote one user.
"The privilege is insane," commented a user, while another added sarcastically, "I might jump on my private jet and head to Mexico then. Thanks for the tip."
"Imagine posting this while millions of Americans are about to lose their healthcare coverage," wrote an angry user. "The disconnect is beyond."
"Maybe if you wouldn't wear such tight clothing, like a corset, you wouldn't have back problems," wrote a user who shared that they needed expensive stem cell treatment for their cancer. "Cry me a river!"
Although we're not sure this post will damage the KKW Beauty founder's reputation, as her wealth and privilege have been called out for years, for many, it was certainly a cryptic reminder of just how much she and her family are able to have.
