King Charles Talks About His Health With A Royal Fan Who Had Also Battled Cancer

According to reports, Safeena Khan, who runs a local floristry business, asked the King how he was feeling as she presented him with a bouquet of flowers reportedly inspired by his gardens at Highgrove House.

After sharing that she too had battled cancer, Khan said, as per PA Media: "He asked me how I was, and I asked him how he was. There were some pleasantries towards the end, but it was a lovely conversation."

The monarch reportedly gave her the "thumbs up" when she asked how he was doing health-wise, and he added: "I'd like to think I'm on the better side [of my cancer journey.]"

Khan praised the father-of-two's bravery and openness in discussing his health, adding: "It is not something easy to discuss. Two years on [from my own cancer journey] I still find it difficult."

"I think you have to accept that you're going through it first, and then the fight begins. I think the key is that you don't give up on yourself. The biggest form of disrespect to yourself is giving up," Khan added.

King Charles also spoke about his battle with cancer during a trip to Northern Ireland back in March. While speaking with people living with the disease, he asked if they were able to "survive the side effects alright?" before adding: "You just have to push on, don't you?"
