Last Friday, February 16, was the 2018 Chinese Lunar New Year, beginning of the Year of the Dog, and Lululemon had something special in store to celebrate the holiday in a big way! They released a limited-edition, Chinese New Year inspired capsule collection that we are seriously in love with.
The gorgeous collection features Lululemon’s signature leggings, workout shorts, and sports bra in a new, fun print in honor of the holiday. In a press release, Lululemon explained the inspiration behind the collection, “The color red symbolizes good fortune and joy for the Lunar New Year, as most notably found in traditional red pockets and gifting during the festival, while flowers like magnolias, peonies, plum and lily blossoms are prominent symbols in Chinese culture and art. Each flower and branch was hand-drawn and brought to life with different shades of red.”
