A McDonald's Customer's Big Mac Photo Goes Viral On Social Media
If you know anything about McDonald's, then you've likely heard of its Big Mac, one of its most famous original sandwiches. When it first came out, it even had its own jingle that described its interesting mix of ingredients: "two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions, and a sesame seed bun."
The Big Mac has offered a fun twist on a classic burger for decades, with its extra piece of bun in the middle and sweet and tangy special sauce. It's always been known as an extra-flavorful and filling sandwich. While it used to seem extra affordable, despite being a fancier sandwich, prices on the Big Mac have gone up, going from only a few bucks to over $6 at some locations.
As it turns out, it seems to be getting smaller too, which one Reddit user proved in their viral post within the famous "shrinkflation" thread, which exposes fast food companies and other brands for selling less product for the same or higher prices. The user posted a picture of their puny Big Mac sandwich and simply captioned their post, "Small Mac," causing a stir in the comments section.
Fans React To The 'Small Mac' And McDonald's Food Quality On Reddit
After the customer shared a picture of their tiny sandwich, other McDonald's customers, including some who now consider themselves former customers, couldn't get over how pathetic it looked, and weighed in on the alleged downfall of the famous burger joint over the years.
Many of them left quite interesting comments, and some also expressed that they feel their time at the fast food joint has come to an end.
"I do think we'll see the decline of McDonald's in our lifetime," wrote a customer on Reddit.
"They're such a rip-off, it's basically a lettuce sandwich at this point," added another.
One Reddit user joked that the burger patty in the "Small Mac" photo was so tiny and wimpy-looking that they could "see through the meat."
"I've noticed their burgers are smaller to the effect that they're coming out overcooked and dry," commented a customer.
Several customers wrote about wanting to boycott the restaurant or cut down on visits in the hope that some sort of change in customer base would force them to improve the quality of their food.
"Everyone knows it's overpriced garbage," wrote a former customer.
"Stop giving them your money," added another.
