Fan Claims She Suffered Horrific Injuries After Following Bath Salts Recipe From 'With Love, Meghan'
According to RadarOnline, a fan named Robin Patrick claimed that she recreated the former Suits actress's homemade bath salts recipe, which she made for makeup artist and friend Daniel Martin in her With Love, Meghan series.
The mom-of-two's bath salts recipe consisted of Epsom salt, Himalayan salt, arnica oil, and lavender oil, which Patrick reportedly included in her own version too. As per Radar Online, when Patrick tested her concoction by dissolving it in the bath, things took a painful turn.
"Initially, I experienced a mild tingling sensation without discomfort. However, as the water level rose to cover my legs and reached my buttocks, I began to feel burning and significant discomfort in those areas," she told the outlet.
The Fan Reportedly Experienced 'Intense Burning'
"I immediately exited the tub, stopped the water, and later stirred the bathwater with my right hand and arm to assess the mixture," she continued, and then reportedly claimed that she felt "additional burning sensations" on her hand and arm. According to Patrick, applying Gold Bond lotion had no effect, though a lidocaine spray temporarily eased the pain.
"That evening, while showering, I experienced intense burning as water contacted the affected areas, which had developed into ulcers," Patrick reportedly claimed, adding: "To date, the burns are still not healed and are quite uncomfortable. The others are just sore as heck to touch."
She went on: "Since the incident, I have endured persistent burning, discomfort, and the emergence of new blister-like sores and ulcers daily. These symptoms have disrupted my daily and nightly routines, preventing me from taking warm showers or wearing clothing over the affected areas."
"The pain feels as though it is burning from within," she alleged, before going on to say that she is "deeply concerned about the risk of infection, sepsis, or other complications."
The Lawsuit
As a result of the alleged injuries Patrick has faced after following the As Ever founder's recipe, Patrick is reportedly suing Markle, Netflix, and Archewell Productions. She is seeking at least $75,000 for medical expenses and $10M in damages, accusing them of "reckless disregard for public safety and to deter similar conduct in the future." She is said to be open to settling out of court if a financial agreement can be reached.
In her claim, Patrick argues that Markle has a "duty of care" to include "adequate warnings" for viewers about any potential risks associated with using essential oils in the bath salts recipe.
