Meghan Markle is no stranger to facing criticism from the public. And she has once again been slammed following her “intimate” cover interview with People, as social media accused her of being “delusional” and “lying,” among other things.

The Duchess of Sussex’s interview seemingly took place while Prince Harry was in Vancouver for the Invictus Games, and was published a few days before her new show With Love, Meghan landed on Netflix. Keep reading for more details…

The Internet Doesn't Believe Meghan Markle's Story About Son Prince Archie

In the interview, the As Ever founder discussed a number of different topics, including her lifestyle brand and her life with Prince Harry and their children Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet in Montecito, California. However, a few things she said didn't sit right with people on social media.

One of the things that was called out by social media was what she said about Prince Archie. As per the interview, Prince Archie, who was recovering from a sickness, told his mom, "Mama don't work too hard" as he was stirring awake, with Meghan recalling, "It was the sweetest thing."

"So, not only is a 5 year old having conversations with his dad about land mines… he's now telling his mama 'don't work too hard' while poorly?" wrote one person on X, followed by three eye rolling emojis. The same X user added: "Any parent who's had a poorly 5 year old knows that they wouldn't say anything like that. #TheWomanIsUnhinged." "Pure and utter lying trash," added another.

"A five year old says momma don't work too hard. That is utterly ridiculous. This woman really does think people are stupid," criticized another reader, this time on a YouTube video about the interview. "Every word is a ridiculous lie," concurred a second, as a third exclaimed: "No way no how… that did not happen!" "It's made up," thought a fourth.

What Did Meghan Markle Say About Her 'Sussex' Title?

The former Suits actress also went into detail about her Duchess of Sussex title and the Sussex name as a whole, which has always divided the internet since she and Prince Harry stepped down as senior royals in 2020.

"It's our shared name as a family, and I guess I hadn't recognized how meaningful that would be to me until we had children," the With Love, Meghan star told People. “I love that that is something that Archie, Lili, H and I all have together," she continued, before going on to say that sharing the Sussex name with Prince Harry is "part of our love story."

"She's clearly doing this to cling to her royal status," thought one X user, adding: "By rebranding them as the Sussex family, she's trying to maintain a sense of royal identity, especially as she feels it slipping away." Another said: "The hypocrisy over the title is why people don't like her, among other things." "It all comes down that without her useless title and Prince Harry, she is a nobody," wrote a third.

More Internet Reactions

It wasn't just the criticism for the Prince Archie story and the Sussex title that didn't go down well with social media, as the interview as a whole was severely criticized and mocked. "What a disaster of an interview. Everything is laughable," quipped one X user, followed by three sideways crying laughing emojis. "All this [expletive] does is give interviews. She's a narcissistic toxic," wrote a second.

"Delusional," slammed a third user, as a fourth concurred: "This is one of the most syrupy and deluded things I've ever seen printed in a magazine. She literally wrote it herself and sent it to you, but why would you print this drivel?"

"Oh please, there's nothing genuine about her. When is she going to realize no one is interested in her?" asked a fifth user. "How much is she paying you for PR?" enquired a sixth, as a seventh said: "She's a fraud, a liar, a grifter, money hungry social climber, identity thief and much more."
