Is Meghan Markle Trying To Overshadow Kate Middleton At Christmas?
According to reports, the Duchess of Sussex is currently working on a holiday special that is due to be released in December. And as most, if not all, royal fans know, the Princess of Wales hosts her Together at Christmas carol concert at Westminster Abbey in December each year.
"It's always said that whenever Catherine, the Princess of Wales, starts something, Meghan Markle does something else to cap it, or in some ways clash with it," royal expert Hugo Vickers reportedly told RadarOnline.
Another insider went even harsher, and added: "This is just the type of vicious, nasty move that is coming to define Meghan."
Royal Expert Predicts Meghan Markle's Holiday Special Won't Be In The 'Same League' As Kate Middleton's 'Incredibly Moving' Concert
Vickers went on to suggest that the Princess of Wales shouldn't have anything to worry about, as her concert isn't "quite in the same league" as the As Ever founder's. How catty!
Vickers also hinted that Meghan's Netflix special could be more for her and Prince Harry's own financial gain, whereas the Princess of Wales' concert is for the benefit of others.
He said: "Obviously, the initiative of the Princess of Wales at Westminster Abbey is incredibly moving and incredibly special, and is done for the benefit of the rest of the world, for all the people who've been suffering, all the people who've helped with charities, all that sort of thing, so it's all for the public good."
Internet Reactions
As always, the internet had plenty to say on the matter. Some fans insisted there was no contest between the two women, while others pointed out that the Princess of Wales probably isn't even concerned due to bigger priorities, such as her health, her family, and preparing to be queen!
"If it came down to watching either one, the true Princess wins out every time. MeMe tries to overshadow, but fails every time," slammed one person. "Come on, does she REALLY think people would rather watch HER over the British Princess? One is mellow, graceful, naturally beautiful, and talented... the other is crass, uncouth, untalented, selfish and really not liked... leave it up to the public who is worth watching," echoed a second.
"Kate does not have to engage in any publicity clashes with anyone. She has too many responsibilities and too much class to do so," thought a third, as a fourth concurred: "Kate's too busy doing charitable work to notice. Plus… she's the future queen of England, there's really no need to bother."
