Meghan Markle has altered her wedding ring a number of times over the years since she and Prince Harry wed, which doesn’t do much for the rumors that she “hated” the original ring the royal got for her originally. In a recent post from her brand, As Ever, the Duchess of Sussex proudly displayed her rings—is this a sign she’s done changing them? Keep reading for more information.
Meghan's Ring Changes Over The Years
The original ring that Harry proposed with has a cushion-cut diamond that's between 2.5 and 3 carats with two smaller diamonds, one on each side, that are from his mother's jewelry collection.
In 2019, two years later, the band appeared a lot thinner than it originally was. Then, a few years alter, the ring was reportedly reset by jeweler Lorraine Schwartz with a new diamond band. In 2023, Meghan was spotted without her ring during multiple public appearances, with representatives noting that the ring was being prepared, marking the third time it was altered.
Then again, in 2024, viewers of Meghan's Netflix show trailer pointed out that the cushion-cut diamond was no longer, rather, she had it altered to an emerald cut. Now, Meghan's getting more intentional with showing off her ring, with an up close post on As Ever that shows her delicately packing individual teabags, ring finger on display.

Social Media Reactions
Though comments are turned off on the As Ever Instagram page, the mother-of-two's ring is a popular topic of conversation on social media, so fans and critics alike have both found places to share their thoughts. Some stand with the Duchess, pointing out it's her wearing the ring, so she should be happy with how it looks. "She's going to be wearing that ring every day for the rest of her life—I would change it to my liking too!" one person wrote in a comment on TikTok.
But others had different opinions: "If my husband designed my engagement ring and had his mother's rings in it, I would not touch it or change it," one person wrote. "Sure get another band or more sparkle but I'd never change it all."
"She should've kept the original," another person argued. "She made a big deal about him proposing and he designed it, obviously didn't mean that much to her. She hated it."
