Meghan Trainor has been proudly displaying her slim figure after admitting to taking weight loss medication and getting work done, which many of her fans have praised her for, but after changing a lyric in her song about body positivity, some think she’s taken things too far.
The singer-songwriter recently performed at a music festival in California, where she changed a lyric in her breakthrough body-positive anthem, “All About That Bass.” She made a joke about her new chest, which she admitted to having worked on not long after revealing she and her husband started taking weight loss medication together. Her drastic weight loss has been a hot topic over the last year, but now, she seems to be getting more backlash than support. Read more about her transformation and controversial lyric change below.
Meghan Trainor Flaunts Her Slim Body On Stage And Changes A Lyric In 'All About That Bass' At Wango Tango In California
On Saturday, May 10th, the mom of two took the stage at iHeartRadio's KIIS-FM Wango Tango concert in Huntington Beach, California. Wearing a sparkly hot pink two-piece costume, she gave her fans a fun performance and showed off her much smaller, toned figure. Just last month, after people began noticing how drastically she had slimmed down, Meghan admitted that in addition to working with a dietitian and strength training, she started taking Mounjaro sometime over the last year to get fit and lose excess weight.
In a revealing and vulnerable Instagram post, the former Voice mentor wrote that she had "been on a journey to be the healthiest, strongest version" of herself for her children. She claimed she used "science and support" to lose weight, writing "Shoutout to Mounjaro!" Not long after she gave in and revealed that she had been taking the drug, during a podcast interview, her husband, former child actor Daryl Sabara, said that they both started taking it at the same time.
It was a very revealing spring for Meghan, as she also posted on Instagram about having a chest augmentation done in collaboration with an implant company, which she referenced on stage in California. During her Wango Tango performance, she sang her arguably most popular hit, "All About That Bass."
In one of the opening lines, instead of singing, "Yeah, it's pretty clear, I ain't no size two," she made a joke about her "new" chest, taking away from some of the body-positive themes.

Fans React To Meghan's Surprise Lyric Change On Social Media
Since showing off her new figure and sharing information on her weight loss, the "Me Too" singer's loyal fanbase would hype her up on social media, stating that they were proud she did what she had to do to take care of herself and what's important to her. However, some did not support this lyric change, and other internet users started sharing their disappointment with her online.
"She looks amazing, and I love her, but yeah, [it's] unfortunate about the lyric change," wrote a fan under a video of Meghan's Wango Tango performance on Instagram.
"[It] kind of ruins the whole point of the song, but whatever, it's hers to mess with," added another.
"This is embarrassing," commented an Instagram user.
While Meghan has yet to respond directly to the criticism she's faced following her slight change in her song, she seems fed up with having to defend herself against those talking about her body, so she might just choose to brush it off.
