Michelle Obama, 61, is currently working hard promoting her highly-anticipated new style book, The Look, which explores her fashion evolution over the years.
But fashion isn’t the only thing she is talking about while on the promo trail, as she also opened up about America’s ongoing desire for her to run for president…
What Did Michelle Obama Say About Running For President?
Interestingly, the former First Lady – who was in the White House with husband and former president Barack Obama between January 20th, 2009, and January 20th, 2017 – may not be so tempted to pursue the presidency herself. And that's not necessarily because she doesn't want it, but rather, because she doesn't think the country wants it!
Fans have been spotted holding 'Michelle 2028' signs at recent events, proving the calls aren't slowing down. But Michelle isn't convinced that the public is "ready" for it!
The former FLOTUS spoke about the topic during a live chat with Tracee Ellis Ross at the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) on November 5th, saying America "ain't ready" for a woman in the White House, regardless of who it is!

Michelle Obama Doesn't Think The Country Is 'Ready' For A Female President
The Becoming author explained that the country has already proven that it doesn't want a woman for president, referring to Donald Trump's victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. And let's not forget Trump's victory over Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election too, which further supports her point.
"Well, as we saw in this past election, sadly, we ain't ready," the mom-of-two said, before doubling down on her decision to not pursue the presidency, despite many calls for her to run. She added: "That's why I'm like, 'Don't even look at me about running, 'cause you all are lying.'"
"You're not ready for a woman. You are not. So don't waste my time," she declared, before concluding: "We got a lot of growing up to do, and there are still, sadly, a lot of men who do not feel like they can be led by a woman, and we saw it."

Barack Obama Confirmed His Wife Would 'Never' Run
The IMO podcast host has said on several occasions over the years that she wouldn't want to run for president – and her husband has also backed that up too!
"[Michelle] will never run for office," the former president, 64, said during a chat with SiriusXM's Sway in the Morning back in October 2016.
"She is as talented and brilliant a person as there is, and I could not be prouder of her, but Michelle does not have the patience or the inclination to actually be a candidate herself," he continued, concluding: "That's one thing y'all can take to the bank."
