Black Friday is officially over, and one of the most popular deals people love to take advantage of is new tech, like a brand new iPhone.
If you got a new iPhone while Black Friday shopping or are expecting to get one over the holidays, you’ll likely want to keep it in as good a shape as possible. Whether it’s the latest iPhone 17 or a slightly older one, your new phone is going to come with preinstalled apps that might seem useful when you first set it up, but can actually end up taking up a bunch of storage. Read more about the three preinstalled apps you should consider deleting from your new phone below.
1. iMovie
iMovie is a great app for those who are constantly creating, who enjoy making short-form films outside of social media, and for students who need to make videos for projects. Other than that, there are so many more serious, professional platforms for making movies out there.
When iMovie stays installed and updated on your phone, it houses so many files, soundbites, and more that end up hogging more storage on your phone than you may think. If you're not planning on making mini movies via your iPhone anytime soon, you can delete it.

2. Books
Every once in a while, even the most avid book readers need to end up reading on their devices. However, how often is that device an iPhone?
These days, Kindles, iPads, and other devices have taken over the virtual book world, and reading books off a smaller iPhone screen isn't the most pleasant. If you love to read, but can't stand the thought of reading something from your iPhone, then you should delete the Books app, as getting rid of all its data and updates can save you a chunk of storage.

3. Games
It's totally normal to want to download a few gaming apps to your iPhone. After all, playing games on your smartphone while you need some entertainment or a distraction can be great. However, that doesn't mean you need the preinstalled Games app.
The Games app takes up storage because it comes loaded with built-in data like icons, previews, and system files that support Apple's gaming features. Even if you don't actively use it, the app still reserves space for updates and background data.
