Powerade Is Facing A Recall After Their Drinks Found To Contain ‘Foreign Metal Objects’

Over 800 cases of Powerade variety packs sold in South Carolina and Florida have been recalled by The Coca-Cola Company, the FDA recently announced.

These variety packs contain bottles of Powerade Grape that may contain a stainless-steel ring, posing a safety risk to consumers. Learn more about the recall—including what to do if you’re in possession of one of the impacted products—below.

Powerade Recall

This ongoing recall, which began on Feb. 27, 2024, includes Powerade products that were distributed across South Carolina and Florida. The following variety packs have been recalled due to the fact that they could contain "foreign materials"—a stainless steel ring, specifically:

    Powerade Zero Fruit Punch, 20oz PET bottles 24 variety pack, 8 bottles of Powerade Grape within the variety pack. Lot codes: 0013098209, 0013111742, 0013111657, 0013119902. Expiration date: NOV1124AME. 149 cases.Powerade Zero Mixed Berry, 20oz PET bottles 24 variety pack, 8 bottles of Powerade Grape within the variety pack. Lot codes: 0013098209, 0013111742, 0013111657, 0013119902. Expiration date: NOV1124AMC. 387 cases.Powerade Mountain Berry Blast, 20oz PET bottles 24 variety pack, 8 bottles of Powerade Grape within the variety pack. Lot codes: 0013098209, 0013111742, 0013111657, 0013119902. Expiration date: NOV1124AMG and NOV18AMA. 366 cases.

If you are in possession of these bottles, the FDA urges you to refrain from consuming them. Instead, you should discard of them or return them to the place of purchase for a refund.
