It’s no secret that Prince Harry and King Charles have had their fair share of father-son struggles more recently, but a royal author is hinting that it’s been that way for a long time.
A royal author recently published a story in their new book about the dad of two calling the king to have a heated conversation where he “demanded” money from him and allegedly cursed at him. It’s not the first time the public has heard about these two having an argument, but as they’re reportedly working towards family reconciliation, hearing stories like this has royal family enthusiasts wondering if that’s possible. Read more about what the author had to say below.
A Royal Author Claims Prince Harry Called King Charles To 'Demand' Money From Him
If there's one scandal or dramatic incident from the last decade that continues to affect the royal family and media headlines, it's how Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's departure from their royal duties in 2020 changed the dynamic of today's royal family for years. More particularly, the rift it caused between the prince and his father, who has become the King of England since he moved to California in 2020.
This week, a new biography, The Windsor Legacy, on the royal family, written by renowned royal author and reporter Robert Jobson, was published. It explores the current relationships amongst today's most prominent royal family figures, including King Charles, Camilla, the two princes, William and Harry, as well as their wives, Kate Middleton and Meghan Markle.
"The historic narrative romp, told through the key characters and clashes at the heart of the family, will be packed with exclusive revelations and be as comprehensive as it is captivating," reads a description of the new release.
During one section of his book, the royal author claims that around the time Prince Harry and Meghan Markle left their royal duties, while Queen Elizabeth II was still alive, Prince Harry called her to ask for money, causing her to sigh in front of her staff and insist that he ask his father, Charles, instead.

Prince Harry Reportedly 'Swore' At His Father While Asking For Money
When it came down to the dad-of-two needing to ask for money from his father, things allegedly got heated, according to Jobson, as he wrote about the father-son duo getting into an argument, which led to Harry saying something he probably shouldn't have.
"After Harry swore at him over the phone one day and demanded funds, he stopped taking his calls," wrote the author, according to Radar Online.
As Jobson claims, after King Charles hung up the phone, he turned to his royal aides and simply stated, "I'm not a bank."
This story is rather fascinating for royal family enthusiasts or those who have been following the tensions between Prince Harry and his family, as it's come out around four years after he stepped away from the UK and his duties, and after reported back-and-forth feuds, he has expressed he's ready to reconcile with his father, brother, and more.
During the years between this book's release and Harry's departure, people have been speculating that he's been asking his father for money, despite him and the Suits alum expressing their need to be independent and start their own brands. Now, it looks like this tale from a credible royal expert could mean those rumors and stories are true.
