Royal family fans and other pop culture enthusiasts were shocked when Meghan Markle’s Netflix show With Love, Meghan debuted on the mega streaming platform, and although it certainly caused a lot of buzz online, it’s been reported that her and Prince Harry’s Netflix deal is officially over.
New reports are emerging that Netflix will not be renewing its infamous $100M deal with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after months of speculation and the bomb in ratings the As Ever founder’s show received. Meghan’s series was mocked and criticized for a number of reasons, with internet users accusing her of lying about her past, acting “inauthentic” on camera, and more. While sometimes, negative press is better than no press, the stir the show caused online was not enough to make Netflix want to continue creating content with the controversial couple. Read more about the latest updates on their expensive deal below.
'With Love, Meghan' Receives Negative Ratings And Feedback After Streaming On Netflix
In 2020, the same year they stepped down from their royal duties and moved from the UK to the United States, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle signed an impressive $100M deal with Netflix to create shows and series based on their love story and days in the royal family. They released their docuseries with the streaming platform, Harry & Meghan, which detailed their decision to leave the royal family, and it did extremely well.
However, their latest project, the mom-of-two's at-home lifestyle series, With Love, Meghan, did not do nearly as well. It was recently revealed that With Love, Meghan, which focused on the Suits alum giving lifestyle tips from a California estate, took a severe hit in ratings and views, and it didn't make the Netflix "Top 300 Most Watched" list of shows and movies. It was reportedly ranked all the way down at 383, and didn't get amazing streaming numbers since it debuted in March.
Additionally, aside from low viewership, the lifestyle and home series received a lot of criticism and backlash online, with internet users slamming the 43-year-old as "inauthentic" and "self-consumed" for her interactions on the show. The Telegraph went as far as to call the show an "exercise in narcissism."

Inside Sources Claim Netflix Will Not Be Renewing Harry & Meghan's $100M Deal
Due to a lack of success on With Love, Meghan, and other streaming issues, a new Hollywood insider recently told The Sun that Netflix is allegedly ready to part ways with the controversial couple and will not be extending their expensive contract.
"There's no animosity from either side," claimed the insider. "Things have just run their course."
The contract is said to run until it expires in September; therefore, the clock is ticking before any changes can be made. Despite the drama surrounding With Love, Meghan, their original docuseries from 2020, is still considered one of their biggest docuseries success stories, being one of their most-watched series to date. However, all of the glory the first show received was not enough to keep any other current or upcoming projects from the California-based couple from keeping up their deal, especially since the lifestyle and at-home series reportedly flopped.
Although the Duke and Duchess have yet to make a comment on the reported end of their pricey contract, it has royal family fans wondering what this could mean for their future and their incomes, and whether or not it will sway them to try and make amends with other members of the royal family.
We will have to stay tuned for Netflix's official confirmation as to whether or not the deal is over and done with, but for now, it's not looking good for Harry and Meghan.
