Though Prince Harry and Meghan Markle didn’t officially start their feud with the royal family until they left for California in 2020, cracks were beginning to show in 2018 in the months leading up to their wedding. According to a few royal sources, not even Queen Elizabeth was spared from Prince Harry’s troublemaking, citing many issues the Queen had with how they handled their royal wedding. Prince Harry Was Rude To Queen Elizabeth
According to royal biographer Sally Bedell Smith, Prince Harry "blew" his relationship with his grandmother in a February 2018 meeting about his upcoming wedding, in which he was "rude to [Queen Elizabeth] for 10 minutes," leaving her feeling "very worried" about Harry, calling him "besotted and weak."
"The Queen was dismayed that Harry had asked the Archbishop of Canterbury to perform the wedding service in St. George’s Chapel without first requesting permission from the Dean of Windsor," Smith wrote to her Substack readers.

Queen Elizabeth Is Suspicious Of Meghan Markle
Queen Elizabeth was also reportedly miffed that Meghan Markle refused to share her wedding dress details before she walked down the aisle in it. In addition, the Queen was reportedly bothered by "Meghan and Prince William and Kate Middleton not working well together” leading up to the ceremony."
Smith got this information from a phone call with Queen Elizabeth's late cousin, Lady Elizabeth Anson, prior to her 2020 death. "We hope but don't think she is in love," she said of Markle. "We think she engineered it all." She also added that the Queen said the "jury was still out" on Meghan just months before she was set to marry Prince Harry.
