It isn’t just the members of the royal family who Prince Harry has been disagreeing with, as according to reports, the 38-year-old father-of-two allegedly got himself in trouble with his wife, Meghan Markle, 41, at the start of their relationship. We need to know more!
Prince Harry discussed the language differences between British English and American English when taking part in “The Colbert Questionnaire” during an appearance on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert on Tuesday, February 28th, revealing that some of those differences actually “got me and my wife into a lot of trouble in the beginning of our relationship.” Yikes!

Prince Harry Says British And American Differences Caused Problems At The Start Of His And Meghan's Relationship
The Duke of Sussex and the talk show host first brought up the subject after Colbert asked Prince Harry about his favorite sandwich, with Harry revealing that he liked a "cheese and ham toastie with Dijon mustard on top" cooked in a "toastie machine."
This then led Colbert to interject and ask the royal if he meant a "panini press," to which Prince Harry replied: "I have to be sort of careful with these questions because Americanisms to the British-isms, it's very different. Got me and my wife into a little trouble at the beginning of our relationship."
Prince Harry Also References The Language And Cultural Difference In 'Spare'
While he didn’t go into too much detail about the "trouble" in his Stephen Colbert interview, he went into a lot more detail within the pages of his memoir Spare, recalling one particular incident that then ultimately led him to seek therapy.
"Meg said something I took the wrong way. It was partly a cultural difference, partly a language barrier, but I was also just over-sensitive that night. I thought: Why's she having a go at me?" he wrote. "I snapped at her, spoke to her harshly – cruelly. As the words left my mouth, I could feel everything in the room come to a stop."
He continued to write that the former Suits actress left the room for 15 minutes and he then found her in the bedroom. "She was calm, but said in a quiet, level tone that she would never stand for being spoken to like that," he added, before going on to say that he sought therapy following that incident.
'Spare' Allegedly Caused Tension Between Prince Harry And Meghan
Prince Harry's Stephen Colbert interview comes following the reports that there is a little trouble in paradise for the Sussexes, as there is allegedly ongoing tension between the two of them following the release of Prince Harry's bombshell memoir, Spare.
"She’s always supportive of him, but behind closed doors, the backlash from the book has caused some tension," an insider recently told In Touch Weekly, adding, "Meghan’s worst fear is that Harry’s loose lips could blow up everything they’ve worked so hard to achieve in California and tarnish their brand."
