Robin Wright Wants To Stay In Europe

Speaking to The Sunday Times, Wright revealed that she's actually spent the last few years in the English countryside and wants to make it her permanent home. "I love being in this country," she said of England. "There's a freedom of self here. People are so kind. They're living. They're not in the car in traffic, panicked on a phone call, eating a sandwich. That's most of America. Everything's rush, competition, and speed."

But it's not just American culture that's pushing her away, it's an Englishman that's pulling her. "I've met my person," she told the English paper. "Finally." Wright has been dating British architect Henry Smith, and it sounds like things are going well!

Rosie O'Donnell, Ellen DeGeneres Live New Lives In Europe

Wright is far from the first to make the permanent leap across the pond. Former talk show hosts Ellen DeGeneres and Rosie O'Donnell have been much more outspoken about their moves, both citing the political climate in America as the driver behind their departures.

"I never thought he would win again, but I said, 'If he does, I'm going to move,' and my therapist said, 'Well, let's make a real plan," O'Donnell recalled, speaking of Donald Trump's reelection in 2024. And when the results came in, she set it into motion.

DeGeneres had a similar experience. The Finding Dory actress explained how she and her wife, Portia De Rossi, arrived in the U.K. "the day before the election," and then recalled how things played out the following day. We "woke up to lots of texts from our friends with crying emojis," she remembered, adding: "And I was like, 'He got in.' And we're like, 'We're staying here.'"
