This Huge Secret About Ryan Reynolds’ Career Just Got Out—Fans Are Shocked!
October 25, 2021 by Maria Pierides
Ryan Reynolds just announced that he will be taking a break from acting – and fans are freaking out! The 45-year-old Deadpool star took to Instagram on October 16th to reveal that he will be taking a “little sabbatical from movie making” now that filming for the new Apple TV+ film Spirited has finally wrapped.
FYI, Spirited is a musical retelling of the popular 1843 Charles Dickens novel, A Christmas Carol. It is written and directed by Sean Anders and John Morris, and executively produced by Reynolds himself. It doesn’t have a release date yet, but we already want to add it to our list of traditional Christmas movies alongside Elf and Miracle on 34th Street, as well as the many other versions of A Christmas Carol. Another musical version of one of our favorite Christmas stories with Reynolds, Will Ferrell and Octavia Spencer? What could be better?!
“That’s a wrap for me on Spirited. Not sure I’d have been ready to say yes to a film this challenging even three years ago,” the Green Lantern star wrote on Instagram, alongside a picture of himself with Ferrell, as well as several other behind-the-scenes images of him and the Spirited crew. “Singing, dancing and playing in the sandbox with Will Ferrell made a whole lotta dreams come true. And this is my second film with the great Octavia Spencer.”
“Perfect time for a little sabbatical from movie making. I’m gonna miss every second working with this obscenely gifted group of creators and artists,” the actor and producer continued. “These days, kindness matters as much as talent. I’ve been lucky to work with folks who are flush with both.”
