Sabrina Carpenter has faced her fair share of criticism over the years, with everything from the price of her concert tickets to her “insensitive” song lyrics being slammed in one way or another. But we don’t think anything could have prepared her for the backlash she’s getting now from the President of the United States, the White House, and MAGA supporters on social media.

The 26-year-old “Nonsense” hitmaker has come under fire for publicly speaking out against the White House, after learning that one of her songs was used in an ICE video. Keep reading for all the details…

Sabrina Carpenter Calls The White House 'Disgusting'

On Monday, December 1st, Sabrina responded to a video showing members of Immigration, Customs and Enforcement (ICE) detaining people with her sexually-charged song "Juno" playing over the footage.

Carpenter typically demonstrates a sexual pose while performing the song on tour, which is preceded by the phrase, "Have you ever tried this one?" The ICE video uses that same phrase as people are being arrested and placed in various positions.

On the TikTok and X version of the clip posted by the White House account, the caption reads: "Have you ever tried this one? Bye-bye."

"This video is evil and disgusting. Do not ever involve me or my music to benefit your inhumane agenda," the "Espresso" singer wrote on X, in a message aimed at the official White House account. And the White House was quick to fire back!

The White House Calls Sabrina Carpenter 'Stupid'

On Tuesday, December 2nd, White House spokesperson Abigail Jackson called the "On My Way" singer "stupid" in a statement responding to her criticism of the ICE video.

"Here's a Short n' Sweet message for Sabrina Carpenter: we won't apologize for deporting dangerous criminal illegal murderers, rapists, and pedophiles from our country," Jackson said, referencing the title of Carpenter's tour.

"Anyone who would defend these sick monsters must be stupid, or is it slow?” Jackson added, referencing a lyric in Carpenter's song "Manchild."

Internet Reactions

While many of the "Please Please Please" singer's fans did of course come to her defense, many MAGA supporters didn't hesitate to side with the White House...

"Bless her heart, Sabrina can keep her little pop song. The adults are busy protecting the country she sings in," quipped one X user, as a second said: "So she supports gang members, murderers, pedophiles and other various criminals. Not something one should brag about."

"Well Bless Her Heart. If a little pop song is the worst thing that happens while we're finally getting murderers and traffickers out of our neighborhoods, I'll sleep just fine tonight. The lady doth protest too much, methinks – sounds more like she's fishin for more free publicity," thought a third, as a fourth slammed: "She can huff and puff all she wants but she sold out and doesn't even own the rights to her music." Zing!

"Sabrina the Dumb [Expletive.] Imagine being this pressed over a meme edit!? Her entire career is Disney Channel leftovers and TikTok dances. Keep screeching into the void, no one who matters is listening, has-been. Delete your account and spare us," criticized a fifth, as many others noted that the ICE video actually boosted her visibility… and vice versa!

"Most attention her music has gotten in years. Typical ingrate," commented a sixth. "They baited her to respond and boost the reach of their video and it worked," added a seventh, as an eighth pointed out the irony, writing: "Lmfao. She boosted their video."
