Ivanka Trump Sports A Mini Trench Jacket While Distributing Food To Families In Need As Fans Slam Her ‘Photo Op’: ‘What Are You Trying To Prove?’

Ivanka Trump rang in 2026 with what appeared to be a purposeful gesture, though many online weren’t exactly convinced.

In a January 20 Instagram post, the first daughter stepped away from her usual polished dresses and opted for a more understated look, wearing a beige mini trench coat layered over a matching turtleneck. She paired the outfit with white ankle-length pants, brown slingback flats, her signature sunglasses, and a soft, glowy makeup look. See the outfit here!

That day, she partnered with Planet Harvest to help distribute 5,000 Planet Harvest food boxes packed with fresh, nutritious produce to families in need.

The mother of three shared the moment on social media, captioning the post, “On Friday, @theplanetharvest co-founder Melissa Ackerman and I supplied @EliLillyCo with 5,000 Planet Harvest food boxes filled with fresh, nutritious produce for food distributions across Miami ~ working alongside incredible local partners to deliver them into the arms of families in need. It was a meaningful way to begin the new year by expanding access to healthy food where support is needed most. Planet Harvest supported these efforts by supplying curated boxes, furthering its mission to support American farmers and ensure their whole harvest reaches every table, from field to family! In the comments, however, fans made it clear they weren’t impressed by her show of generosity.

“What a photo op and that’s all. Want to do something? Save the US and get your father the help he needs,” said one user.

A second said, “You think this helps after your father defunded all the efforts to feed hungry children? It does not. Take a stand for something and say something. Be on the right side of history for once.”

A third asked, “How do you sleep at night???” A fourth quipped, “Oh darling, anything for a photo op.”

“What are you trying to prove—that you’re “giving back”? Come on,” another person added,

“Oh look at you cosplaying someone who works for a living,” someone else wrote.

Back in November, the 44-year-old drew similar criticism after sharing a lengthy social media post about diet-related health concerns—timing that many found controversial as millions of Americans were grappling with recent SNAP benefit cuts.

In the post, she wrote, “Today, 129 million Americans have at least one major chronic disease, and roughly 60%, around 77 million people, have conditions that are diet-related, such as heart disease, type 2 diabetes, or obesity. If food drives disease, food must be part of the cure, and if food is medicine, farmers are healthcare providers!”

In 2025, SNAP benefits were significantly reduced following a mix of stricter federal work requirements, a government shutdown, and funding constraints. New rules took effect on September 1, 2025, with major payment cuts beginning November 1, 2025, leading to tighter work requirements for adults ages 55–64, lower maximum allotments, and a projected loss of benefits for millions of recipients.
