Joe Jonas & Sophie Turner's Bitter Divorce
After Joe filed for divorce from Sophie, a media war ensued, beginning with Sophie claiming that she heard about Joe filing for divorce through the media, rather than in a private conversation between them. Insiders claimed that the divorce was because of Sophie's "party girl" lifestyle, and Joe didn't do anything to quiet these rumors, in fact he stepped out a number of times with their two children, playing the "single dad" part quite well.
Sophie then alleged that Joe was keeping their daughters' passports from her so that she couldn't take their daughters back to the UK. Since then, however, for the benefit of their daughters, they've agreed to settle the rest of their divorce in private.
But that hasn't stopped Sophie from going public with a new man, Peregrine Pearson, whom she was spotted smooching on the street. So clearly, it hasn't been too hard for her to move on. Well, her recent Instagram story says otherwise.
Sophie Turner's Cryptic Instagram Story
Sophie took to Instagram to let fans know how she was feeling by posting a story with a link to the song "All I Ever Asked" by Rachel Chinouriri, which tells the story of someone giving a lot for their relationship and getting nothing back.
"Just a little more time, was it really that hard to do / It was all I ever asked of you," the song's chorus goes. It seems that Sophie connects to these lyrics, perhaps she wanted more than Joe was willing to give?
"Somewhere beneath the surface / I wanna find if you're the problem or the purpose / 'Cause it's borderline / Never know if you're sorry for what you said / For all I know, you adore me / But kept it all inside your head," the first verse reads, hinting to the singer not knowing how the other party truly feels.
"I said it straight, maybe I didn't make it obvious / I would deny you found a way / To make it 'bout yourself and all because / You're always right, never know if you're sorry for what you said," the second verse goes. It seems like Sophie's heart was hurting a little extra that day.
The singer, Rachel Chinouriri, said herself that the song is about the "feeling of asking someone you love to respect you in the simplest form and realizing it's the bare minimum. It's also about realizing your own worth and not settling for someone who cannot be what you need."
It would make sense that Sophie was feeling connected to this song, especially after reports that Joe was "less than supportive" of her during the last couple months of their marriage.
