If you wake up in the morning feeling bloated and self-conscious, it could be time to incorporate some simple stretches into your morning routine. To figure out how to combat this morning bloat, we asked Danielle Deangelo and Jacey Lambros, former Radio City Rockettes and the founders of Jane DO (a workout studio that offers cross training workouts designed for women by women).
Read on to benefit from their expert advice on how to get rid of this belly bloat and go into your day with more confidence!
1. Twisted Sister
How To: Lie flat on your back face up to the ceiling, hug both knees into your chest, twist your knees to the right as you rotate your upper body to your left in opposition. Repeat on the other side.
2. You Knee'd This
How To: Lie face up towards the ceiling with your legs extended. Draw one knee into your chest and twist towards your straight leg side. For greater intensity, rotate your upper body in the opposite direction.
3. Bridge and Tunnel
How To: Come to all fours, with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Arch your back as you gaze towards the ceiling and reverse the action by rounding your back and drawing your chin towards your chest. Repeat slowly and steadily for 30 seconds.
4. The Corkscrew
How To: Stay on all fours with your hands under your shoulders and your knees under your hips. Circle your head and your hips simultaneously in one direction, then reverse the direction.
5. Queen Cobra
How To: Lie face down with your hands directly under your shoulders. Press into your palms and extend your arms to straight. Lower back to your starting position. Repeat 5 times slowly, increasing your range of motion with every repetition.
