Sydney Sweeney Recalls Getting Told To Try Botox As A Teenager In A New Interview
The 28-year-old is entering a new era of her career after her controversial jeans campaign, as fans are highly anticipating her upcoming film, Christy, in which she plays the professional female boxer, Christy Martin, a more serious role she trained very hard for.
Recently, she sat down for an interview with Variety to discuss the boxing movie, which is due to hit theaters later this week, and also started reflecting on her career and reputation. For years, she's been trying to separate herself from stereotypes and labels that she's only famous for her good looks, all while continuing to embrace her femininity. With that comes pressure to undergo plastic surgery or cosmetic treatments.
"I had someone tell me to fix my face or else I'm not going to make it [and] I should get Botox," she recalled. "I was 16!"

In addition to revealing that she has been pressured to get cosmetic treatments done in the past, she also spoke about what it's like when people begin accusing her of having them done.
"It's really funny," she told the entertainment publication. "I'll see things online like 'comparison pictures.' I'm like, 'I'm 12 in that photo. Of course, I'm going to look different. I have makeup on now, and I'm 15 years older."
One of the questions on everyone's mind is whether or not the Anyone But You star dabbles in various treatments or has undergone some kind of surgery to keep up her youthful appearance, but at the end of the day, she swears it's just her natural youth.
"I've never gotten anything done," she stated. "I'm absolutely terrified of needles. No tattoos. Nothing. I'm going to age gracefully. Being an actress, it's a lot harder to stand in the room and demand your worth and for people to look at you and value you. I have to remind myself like, 'Hey, Syd, you're actually powerful. Stand up a little taller.'"
