Sydney Sweeney is moving forward after her American Eagle controversy in style. She made a splash at the New York Stock Exchange when she was invited to ring the Monday morning bell with the denim brand, rocking three different denim-forward looks.
For her first outfit, the Euphoria star went casual-chic. She donned an oversized button-up, left unbuttoned from the stomach down to reveal briefs from her new lingerie line, SYRN. She paired it with baggy light-wash jeans and crisp white pumps for a laid-back yet stylish vibe.

Next, she switched to a fitted denim mini dress that turned heads. The dress featured a collared neckline, a bustier-like outline with delicate threading, and buttons down the front. She completed the look with a black leather purse and matching boots.
For her final outfit, the blonde beauty wore a sky-blue button-up tucked into wide-leg jeans, cinched with a slim black belt, keeping the leather boots from her previous look for a polished finish.
All day, she kept her platinum blonde hair down in loose curls and opted for a glowing, fresh-faced makeup look, perfectly complementing her denim ensembles.
Fans on Instagram couldn’t get enough of Sydney’s denim looks, flooding the comment section with praise. “She’s awesome. A breath of fresh air compared to modern Hollywood celebrities,” wrote one fan. Another added, “She really has great jeans,” referencing her controversial American Eagle ad. “That denim dress is everything.”
“She’s SO gorgeous,” commented another, while someone else chimed in, “That dress is so cute!”

Sydney Sweeney Addresses American Eagle Controversy
Sydney's 2025 American Eagle jeans controversy stemmed from an ad campaign using the tagline “Sydney Sweeney has great jeans”—a play on the word “genes.”Critics slammed the campaign for featuring a blonde, blue-eyed model in a way that some felt carried, or subtly implied, undertones of eugenics and white supremacy.
The ads, which were eventually removed from social media, showed the Christy actress discussing both her “genes” and “jeans.” In a voiceover, she said, “Genes are passed down from parents to offspring, often determining traits like hair color, personality, and even eye color. My jeans are blue.”
Many social media users and critics labeled the campaign as “Nazi propaganda” or a “culture-war pathogen,” arguing that using a blonde, blue-eyed woman to represent “great genes” was irresponsible.
The 28-year-old admitted she was “honestly surprised” by the backlash. “I was honestly surprised by the reaction,” Sweeney told People. “I did it because I love the jeans and love the brand. I don’t support the views of some people who chose to connect to the campaign. Many have assigned motives and labels to me that just aren’t true,” she explained.
“Anyone who knows me knows that I’m always trying to bring people together. I’m against hate and divisiveness. In the past my stance has been to never respond to negative or positive press, but recently I have come to realize that my silence regarding this issue has only widened the divide, not closed it. So I hope this new year brings more focus on what connects us instead of what divides us.”
