Have you ever eaten a fast food meal that had you feeling super ‘icky’ afterwards, as it didn’t contain enough fiber or protein?

Sometimes, it can be hard to build a “balanced” meal at fast food places, mainly because the macros on specific menu items tend to be all over the place, and it can be especially difficult to build a filling meal that can help you stay on track with weight loss.

Luckily, a Registered Dietitian, nutrition expert, and content creator, Abbey Sharp, created a video about how to “build a balanced meal” at Taco Bell that will keep you full, pack in some protein, and help you enjoy a delicious Mexican fast food meal without wrecking your weight loss journey. Read more about her balanced drive-thru order below.

Abbey Sharp Orders A 'Balanced Meal' At The Taco Bell Drive-Thru

Abbey has become a viral content creator for all of her healthy lifestyle-related videos, but some of her standout content is her fast food ordering advice. She is a big believer in "balanced" meals and "hunger-crushing combos," meaning combining healthy fats, protein, and fiber in your daily diet so that you stay full and energized.

However, she also recognizes that life gets in the way from time to time, and you need to snatch a fast food meal from popular chains, like Taco Bell. In one of her viral videos, she shows off her filling and customizable Taco Bell order, and the best part is, you don't have to get a salad or veggie bowl!

At the drive-thru, Abbey asks for "Three soft chicken tacos with extra tomatoes, jalapenos, and lettuce."

Taco Bell is, after all, famous for its tacos, and several health experts have suggested ordering the chicken tacos for the lean source of protein and the ability to customize them to add more vegetables.

The Benefits Of Eating Taco Bell Chicken Tacos With Extra Veggies

After getting her order in the drive-thru, in her video, Abbey explains the reasoning behind her order and why the three soft chicken tacos build a "balanced meal."

"I got three solid tacos here with some chicken for our protein, some cheese for some fats, and lots of extra veg," she explains.

"You've got to ask for extra veg, because, why not?" she continues. "Pack her full."

The dietitian then adds that the three-taco meal contains an impressive 36 grams of protein and 5 grams of fiber. Therefore, if you're on a health journey and have some protein or fiber goals to hit, it's an excellent choice for lunch or dinner. Abbey adds that it's a meal that "checks all the boxes" in terms of macros, so you're guaranteed to feel full and satisfied after eating it.
