According to Livestrong, dried fruit contains a lot more calories than fresh fruit since water is removed from it during the dehydration process. For example, a cup of raisins contains 400 calories while fresh grapes contain about 100 calories per cup. How crazy is that?!

Many packaged dried fruits can be fattening since they can oftentimes be loaded with added sugar too. There are some recommended ways you can seamlessly add dried fruit to your diet the right way. According to a Shape article by registered dietitian Cynthia Sass, you can opt for dried or freeze dried fruits that contain no added sugar or preservatives. Naturally dried fruits are perfectly safe and even healthy to eat.
