How To Wear A Scarf As A Belt

Skinny scarves and bandanas are having a moment, and I don't know about you, but I'm looking for as many ways to incorporate mine into my outfits as possible. Wearing one as a belt is the perfect combination of fashion and function - it looks chic and makes for a great way to add a waist to a dress or hold up slightly-too-big jeans. Read on for how to get the look in six quick steps!

Step 1

Grab a scarf that's long enough to wrap once or twice around your waist - I used a long black skinny scarf from Zara for this look!

Step 2

Loop the scarf through your front two belt loops, so that the sides hanging down are exactly even in length.

Step 3

Heading towards the back of your jeans, continue to lace the scarf through your belt loops.

Step 4

Once you reach the back center belt loop, criss-cross the scarf through it, so that the ends each come out on opposite sides.

Step 5

Bring the crossed ends around to the front for a double-layered look. No need to loop them back through your belt looks unless you'd prefer to!

Step 6

Finally, tie the scarf at your waist. I prefer this off-centered knotted look, but if you're going for a more girly approach, a cute bow is a fun and flirty touch.
