If you’re looking to enhance your facial features without surgery, social media makeup tutorials can be extremely helpful, particularly for mastering concealer application to enhance the face naturally for mature beauties over 40.
Recently, popular content creator and makeup artist Gabriela Soares (@glamgirlgabi) shared a video on TikTok, showing her followers the common under-eye concealer mistake to avoid with mature skin and how to achieve a more lifted look through careful product placement.
@glamgirlgabi Makeup Mistakes that Age You Faster (Part 4) – UNDER EYE HACK – Use a VERY FINE sheet of paper to sift your powder under the eye so that you distribute less while still setting. **Please note that this won’t work unless the paper is extremely extremely fine. #makeupmistakestoavoid #over40 #over40women #over40makeup #over40makeuptips #over50makeuptutorial #over50makeuplooks #matureskin #matureskinmakeup #makeupmistakes

The Concealer Mistake Women Over 40 Should Avoid Because It ‘Will Always Crease’—And How To Get A ‘Natural’ Look Instead
Soares explained that this mistake is “setting your concealer with a powder that is too matte, too dense, or both.” If you “don’t set under the eyes,” the makeup artist warned that “the concealer will crease.”
She went on to say that “cream products always crease in areas that have mobility.” The first thing you need, she added, is a “very finely milled powder.”
She also shared a quick hack for revived under-eyes. "Take a little piece of toilet paper, and separate it so it's a very thin sheet of paper," she said. "Then, you're going to press it under the eye to pick up any excessive product."
Any excess, she noted, would usually "crease in those fine lines." After that, she instructed laying the paper "again on the under-eye area," and placing "powder on top of it."

The paper "will act as a sifter, to finally distribute just enough powder to set, but not too much powder to over-dry that area out," she said.
The makeup artist then presented her model, showcasing one side of her face with Soares' makeup technique applied and the other side left untouched.

"Here, look at how different it is when she smiles," Soares said. She continued, "one side looks very heavy and powdery and older, and the other side still looks bright, but it also looks natural, which is the goal."
