Tom Brady Announces He'll Be Playing In A Fanatics Flag Football Game
Many diehard Patriots fans would give anything for the famous quarterback to return to their team and get back in the NFL. While it doesn't look like he'll be doing that anytime soon, he is going to be back on the field for an exciting game of flag football.
On September 15th, it was announced that the pro player would compete against other big names from the NFL in the Fanatics Flag Football Classic, an exciting one-of-a-kind tournament that will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and likely have football fans from all over the world wanting to tune in.
The tournament will happen on March 21st, 2026, which means it takes place during the Riyadh season, a popular time in Saudi Arabia for cultural and sporting events. Tom is clearly looking forward to the occasion, given it's his first time competing in a professional football game since his last retirement from the NFL.
"I couldn’t be more excited to return to the field, get the competitive juices flowing alongside some of the game’s brightest stars and iconic legends, and bring a truly unique global sports event to fans everywhere during Riyadh Season," he said in a press release.
Tom Brady Says He's Been 'Lucky' To Play Football Around The World During A New Press Conference
This event is a big deal for the dad of three, given he's been taking on other roles since leaving the NFL almost three years ago, after 23 successful seasons with the league. Since then, he's been writing a blog, is a commentator for Fox Sports, and has a minority owner role with the Las Vegas Raiders.
However, he's famous for poking out of retirement, so while he may not be signing onto an entirely new football season, he seems quite excited about the flag football game, which will offer a professionally competitive twist to the classic schoolyard game.
"I've been very lucky over a long period of time to play football all over the world," Brady said during a press conference.
"I've played in Germany, I've played in the UK several times, I've played in Mexico, and the fans everywhere have brought so much energy and passion for the game of football," he continued. "And it made the experience special for everyone involved. I can remember those games as if they were yesterday."
