We Found The Coziest $39 Sweaters That Won’t Itch–EVER

November 21, 2019 by Justine Schwartz

Uniqlo is our favorite stop for elevated basics (they make the world’s best white tee, for example.) And the winter is really the Japanese-based brand’s time to shine: sweaters are their thing!

While they’re definitely known for their $75 cashmere, to be honest, their lambswool and merino sweaters are on point, too.

Who doesn’t want a $39 sweater–especially for holiday gifting? This editors suggests that you consider their more affordable knitwear options: the extra fine merino and 100% lambswool. Just like the premium cashmere, they look and feel a lot more expensive than they really are.

In fact, the lambswool ones are SO soft to the touch and never itch. Ever.

Their new lambswool formula is made with extra-fine fibers that are 1/4 the size of a human hair strand. This makes the sweaters *so* soft. Plus, material is thick and warm, so it will last you through the winter. Lastly, the design is crowd-sourced: in response to customer feedback, they made it longer, with a more relaxed boxy cut. Plus, it has a nice neck detailing so it doesn’t look like “any old sweater.” It’s honestly perfection.

Editors’ Pick

I found that the sweater was true-to-size, although it is worth noting that it’s a boxier style (see above). If you’re looking for something more fitted, there are plenty of other options on the site. I personally loved the silhouette, I found it to be forgiving and perfect for every day. I thought that the sweater was comfortable, definitely not itchy, and I could wear it with or without an undershirt. I loved the color–I went with the Gray and Natural because I’m so daring like that. I wore it with dark wash jeans and camel boots.
