Struggling With Sleep? This Rechargeable Sound Machine Is A Total Game-Changer
We love pop stars’ outrageous stage getups, and one of this year’s favorites by far was Katy Perry’s “Piece Of Me” movie reel outfit. Although we weren’t able to find any custom-made sparkly film reel bras, we’ve got all the materials you need to make your own…and the rest of the outfit too!
Check it. Start with a silver sequin bra and a pair of old 35MM film reels (you can buy them on eBay for $10). A few days before your Halloween party, pick up some glitter spray paint from your local hardware store, and glitz up your old film reels. Secure tightly to the bra, and use the extra film reel to wrap around your torso, a la Katy P. For Katy’s popcorn skirt, just pick up some packing peanuts (also avail at hardware stores or any Office Max) and spray paint yellow.
The rest of the costume is easy: pink Mary Janes–check, sultry black wig–check, red & white striped skirt–check, and cute enough to wear costume-less with a buttondown shirt, ridiculous sunglasses–check check. Pick up a prop microphone from a costume store and you’re officially golden.
