What it is: Living Social e-mails members a deal a day on food and activities in different cities like hiking or $50 worth of food at a restaurant for half the price. If a minimum number of people don’t buy the deal, though, the deal is canceled–so share with your friends. You have five days to contact Living Social if you want a refund on your purchase.
Perks: If three of your friends buy the same deal as you from a unique link you are sent, you get the deal for free. Once you buy the coupon, you’ll get it the next day.
2. Cherry Deals
What it is: Cherry Deals sends daily coupons from businesses around your city. Unlike other sites, these coupons can be used on material things (not experiences) like $35 worth of vintage clothes from a store for a mere $15.
Perks: Cherry Deals is basically giving you free money on items that you can use over and over.
3. Groupon
What it is: Groupon offers customers a deal a day on fun things to do, see, and eat in various cities. These deals last for a limited amount of time and they range from teeth whitening for more than 60% off the regular price to a three course meal that’s 50% off the menu price. You don’t have to register to get the Groupon, but in order to get the deal, a certain number of people must buy it, if not, the deal is sadly canceled.
Perks: Aside from the major savings, Groupon has a message board with tons of feedback from Groupon members about their good and bad experiences with different participating businesses. Groupon follows The Groupon Promise, meaning if you are unsatisfied with your experience, you get a full refund.
