The Difference Between Dragging Through Your Day And Feeling Great On Your Feet? These Arch Support Insoles

It happens at the worst times. You’ll be walking down the street and your flip flop strap will break. You’re stuck hobbling around on one foot until you can find a store to buy new shoes. But what if they were a pair of your favorite flip flops? Is there a way to salvage them? The most common trick I found on the internet is to use a bread clasp. You know, one of these things:

But does this really work? I found a pair of broken Havanas in the back of my closet and decided to give the hack a try. I actually swiped the “bread clasp” from a package of rice cakes (I replaced it with a rubber band because I’m not a monster).

First, I pushed the strap back through the hole. If the hole isn’t big enough, I suggest widening it with a pair of scissors.

With a little bit of effort, I was able to get the plastic strap back through the hole. Since the base was still around the toe post, I was able to attach the bread clasp like so:

The slit of the bread clasp should be orientated downward about the toe post. This will help create more resistance, preventing the toe post from pulling through the hole again. If you can’t find a bread clasp, try using a safety pin.

I was actually surprised with how well this hack worked. I ran a few errands in my fixed-up flip flops and they were as good as new! So next time your flip flip breaks, all you need to do is go to a grocery store and buy a bag of bread.
